Nostalgia seems to be my state of mind these days filled with thoughts of people and places that once were. My lamp creation embodies this sentiment with warmth, comfort and consistency. It is the knowing, telling, and retelling of our stories that blend and link our lives with hopes of everlasting light.
The Nostalgia table lamp is solid yet petite with only the finest craftsmanship using real materials such as steel, brass, copper and glass. Individual copper panels are riveted together yielding its refined industrial style. with a 9” top and bottom ring soldered into place for stability and shape retention. For added contrast, some polishing has been applied to the outside portion of the copper lampshade while still retaining a rustic look. Note: no lacquer coating has been applied and overtime this shade will develop a rich and unique patina. Another detail for your enjoyment would be the sound and feel of this socket switch due to swapping out its stock component for a heavy duty porcelain interior mechanism.
Note: Some extra effort is required to turn this switch unlike a lot of other common lamp switches. An LED compatible corded glide dimmer will accompany this sweet lamp for convenience and added personal ambiance.
Further allure of this piece is a ribbed glass column that transitions to brushed copper with a view of the threaded brass nipple that bines all these pieces together. A quarter inch thick steel plate with metal bluing for the base. The extra hardware with non scratch adhesive pads on the bottom of the base is this lamp’s foundation for a secure footing. To complete this ensemble is a twisted copper colored cord and black phenolic plug.
